About the Artist

Belinda Strong

Hi I’m Bee, illustrator from Melbourne, Australia - pleased to meet you!

I’ve always loved to draw, and from a very young age I would spend hours getting creative with coloured pencils.

Through my childhood and teens, I tried my hand at many artistic pursuits including metal-smithing, music and dance, but found the greatest joy in illustrating. In my late teens, I developed a slight obsession with all things mid-century. Love affairs with artists such as The Beatles, The Kinks, Mary Quant, Charlie Harper, Eyvind Earle, Grant Featherston and Verner Panton (to name but a few) continue to influence my style.

Today I work as a freelance illustrator, and run my own papergoods business.I live in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges, east of Melbourne, with my husband and our greyhound, Twiggy. When I’m not illustrating I love to spend my time sewing, crocheting, getting my hands dirty in our vegetable garden, or cooking tasty things with our home-grown produce… Happy days!
