About the Artist
Margot Curran
From upstate New York, I am the ninth of ten children. We are a family of pranksters, artists, and engineers. I had a catholic, nun-filled elementary education, and a public, art-filled secondary education. I spent many years costuming for theatre and dressing shop windows before turning my attention to painting. Then I had a baby, and the house filled with stuffed animals. I find them endlessly inspiring as models for moody portraits.
